Day 8 Cabane Des Vignettes To Zermatt

On this, our last day, we encountered the only inclement weather of the trip. It involved doing a three Col traverse: Col de l’Eveque (11,239 ft), Col de Mont Brulee (10,541 ft) and Col de Valpelline (11,606 ft). Because of the poor visibility, we missed out on what is normally a spectacular view of the Matterhorn along the route. From Col de Valpelline, we descended over 6,000 ft into Zermatt. A trip of a lifetime!
