In Finnish, Oodi means "ode" and was chosen to signify the library as an ode to literature, democracy, lifelong learning, and the public community. The 1st floor has a cinema, café, restaurant, and exhibition space. The 2nd floor is a "maker space" designed for creativity, featuring 3D printers, recording studios, sewing machines, and gaming rooms. The 3rd floor is a traditional quiet library area known as "book heaven" with an open-plan design.
